3–4 Feet of Water Accumulates in Ward No.16 Even After Light Rain; Khera Targets AAP Government

The "Bolega Kharar, Badlega Kharar" foot march, led by Shiromani Akali Dal Kharar Constituency In-charge Ravinder Singh Khera, entered its 11th day on Thursday, covering Ward No. 16 of the constituency.The march began near Gugga Mari, close to Dussehra Ground, and passed through Gilco Valley, LIC Colony and Sante Majra Colony before concluding at Swaraj Nagar.

Addressing the gathering, Khera highlighted the long-pending issues of waterlogging and sewerage in Ward No. 16. He said residents complained that even after light rainfall, the area gets inundated, with 3 to 4 feet of water accumulating in the streets, making life extremely difficult for local people.

Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and local MLA Anmol Gagan Mann, Khera alleged that the government has failed to undertake any meaningful development in the constituency during the past four-and-a-half years. Instead, he accused it of misleading the public through newspaper advertisements containing hollow claims and false promises.

Khera reiterated that the primary objective of the ongoing march is to collect grievances directly from residents across all 27 wards, prepare a comprehensive memorandum, and submit it to the administration so that long-pending civic issues can be addressed on a priority basis.

Issuing a strong warning to the state administration and the AAP government, Khera said the government has only six months left in office and should either deliver visible development on the ground or be prepared to lose power. He added that the people of Kharar would give a fitting reply to the government's negligence and apathy in the upcoming elections.

On the occasion, Mandeep Singh led the foot march across the ward. Others present included Master Jasmer Singh, Dharam Singh, JE Swaranjit Singh, Kirpal Singh, Pyara Singh, Manpreet Kaur, Amarjit Singh Minta, Balkar Singh Babbu, Surjit Singh, Patwari Balwinder Singh, Harsimran Singh Binny, Jarnail Singh (Darpan City), Jaspreet Singh, and Hardeep Singh Khizrabad.
