CEO PMIDC Dipti Uppal, IAS Reviews Major Development Projects in Amritsar Stresses Timely Completion and Quality Execution

Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company (PMIDC), Ms. Dipti Uppal, IAS, today conducted a comprehensive review meeting with officials of the Municipal Corporation Amritsar (MCA) to assess the progress of key infrastructure and civic development projects being executed across the city.
The meeting focused on ensuring timely completion of works, maintaining quality standards, and strengthening coordination among all executing agencies.The meeting was held in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill and Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr. Jai Inder Singh. Senior officials of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Project, Health Wing, GIS Survey Project, Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board, and representatives of various agencies and companies engaged in executing development projects also attended the review meeting.
A detailed review of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Project was undertaken, during which Dipti Uppal, IAS directed the executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work and ensure that all project milestones are achieved within the stipulated timelines without compromising on quality. She emphasized that timely completion of the project is essential for strengthening the city’s water supply infrastructure and improving public services.
The progress of the GIS Survey Project was also reviewed. The CEO directed the concerned officials to complete the remaining survey work expeditiously, highlighting that an accurate GIS database will play a vital role in scientific urban planning, efficient property management, and enhanced civic governance.
Reviewing the city’s sanitation operations, the CEO assessed the deployment and utilization of sanitation vehicles, the performance of the door-to-door garbage collection system, and other solid waste management activities. Expressing satisfaction over the progress made by the Municipal Corporation, she appreciated the efforts of the Health Wing and the sanitation agencies in improving service delivery and maintaining cleanliness across the city. She, however, instructed the teams to continue improving operational efficiency and ensure uninterrupted sanitation services.
The meeting also included a review of the ongoing sewerage infrastructure works, where officials of the Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board were directed to maintain close coordination with the Municipal Corporation and complete all projects within the prescribed timelines while minimizing inconvenience to the public.
Addressing all departmental officers and representatives of the executing companies, Dipti Uppal, IAS emphasized that every infrastructure project is of immense public importance and must be executed with complete transparency, accountability, and quality. She directed all departments and agencies to work in close coordination, promptly resolve bottlenecks, strictly adhere to project schedules, and ensure that public funds are utilized efficiently to deliver durable and citizen-centric infrastructure.
Municipal Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill assured the CEO that the Municipal Corporation Amritsar would continue to monitor all ongoing projects on a regular basis and extend full cooperation to all executing agencies to ensure their timely completion and successful implementation for the benefit of the citizens.
