Haryana Cooperation and Tourism Minister, Dr Arvind Kumar Sharma on Thursday visited Munimpur village in Jhajjar district to meet the families of four persons who lost their lives after being exposed to toxic gas inside a well. Describing the incident as deeply tragic and heartbreaking, he assured the bereaved families that the State Government and the district administration stand firmly with them during this difficult time and that all eligible assistance would be provided without delay.
Interacting with the grieving families, Dr. Arvind Sharma conveyed his condolences and said the government would ensure that every form of relief admissible under the rules reaches the affected families in a timely manner.Expressing concern over such incidents, Dr. Arvind Sharma appealed to the public not to enter abandoned wells, tanks, sewers or other confined spaces without proper safety equipment and prior gas testing. He cautioned that toxic gases in such enclosed spaces are often invisible but can prove fatal within moments.
He further advised that if a person or an animal gets trapped inside a well, tank or sewer, people should refrain from attempting a rescue on their own. Instead, they should immediately inform the district administration, fire services, police or other emergency response agencies so that trained personnel can carry out the rescue operation safely.The Minister stressed that strict adherence to safety protocols is essential to prevent the recurrence of such unfortunate incidents.
