Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh said that the State should explore the adoption of modern and advanced technologies to further strengthen the functioning of the Printing and Stationery Department. The Governor made these observations while interacting with the Minister of State for Printing and Stationery, Sh Rajesh Nagar, who called on him for a courtesy meeting at Lok Bhavan here today.

During the meeting, the Governor was briefed on the functioning and activities of the Printing and Stationery Department. He emphasised the importance of adopting innovative technologies and modern practices to enhance efficiency, improve the quality of services, and ensure timely delivery of departmental work.

The Governor also held detailed discussions on the functioning of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, the portfolio also held by Sh Rajesh Nagar. Stressing the importance of food security, he underscored the need to ensure the proper storage and maintenance of food grains procured by the Department until they are transferred to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) pool. 

He emphasised that all necessary measures should be taken to preserve the quality and safety of the procured food grains.

Government committed to ensuring food security and smooth availability of essential commodities - Rajesh Nagar

Sh Rajesh Nagar apprised the Governor that State government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is ensuring food security and fair prices for citizens. He informed that the Department is responsible for the procurement of food grains, including wheat and paddy, at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), management of the Public Distribution System (PDS), distribution of subsidised food grains to eligible beneficiaries, and ensuring the availability of essential commodities across the State.

The Minister also briefed the Governor on the Department's efforts to strengthen the public distribution system and ensure efficient delivery of services for the benefit of the people of Haryana.
