Reacting sharply to Arvind Kejriwal's remarks in Pathankot, BJP National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh said that a man who spent months in Tihar Jail on charges of forgery, fraud, extortion and corruption, and is currently out on bail, has no business lecturing anyone on honesty, and would do better to look in the mirror before making such claims.
He said Kejriwal and his entire party are so deeply mired in corruption allegations that they are now desperately trying to hide their own crimes by hurling accusations at others. Tarun Chugh said this is the same Arvind Kejriwal who handed party tickets to those aligned with the Tukde-Tukde gang mindset, who tried to erect obstacles in the construction of Shri Ram Mandir and boycotted its historic Pran Pratishtha, and who demanded proof from the Indian Army for the surgical strikes, insulting the valour of our soldiers.
He said this same opportunist, who once mocked the massacre and exodus of Kashmiri Hindus, is now coming to Punjab to preach honesty — a cruel joke on the people of this country. He said this is the same Kejriwal under whose patronage Tahir Hussain, accused of murdering several Hindus including IB officer Ankit Sharma, and MLA Amanatullah Khan, who has openly engaged in anti-Hindu hooliganism on the streets of Delhi, continue to roam free even today.
Tarun Chugh asked how a man who shelters those who plunged Delhi into darkness and anti-Hindu violence can possibly claim any moral authority to teach honesty to the people of Punjab. He said Kejriwal himself, along with Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Satyendar Jain, have already been to jail in the Delhi excise scam, and this is the same "honesty" they are now trying to sell in Punjab.
The Bhagwant Mann government has done nothing except push Punjab deeper into the drug crisis, with every village and household today suffering its consequences, while the AAP government remains busy juggling statistics. He said that instead of answering the serious questions raised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kejriwal is trying to deflect from the real issue, when the truth is that Punjab's own drug supply chain has flourished under the direct patronage of the AAP government.
Announcements of Rs. 1,000 transfers to women's accounts and claims of free electricity are nothing but pre-poll gimmicks, while Punjab's development funds and Rural Development Fund dues have remained pending with the Centre for years simply because the state government has consistently avoided furnishing accounts. Tarun Chugh appealed to the people of Punjab not to fall for the false propaganda of a party that shelters anti-national elements, insults national pride, and is drowning in corruption.
A party whose own leadership has been to jail, and which gives refuge to anti-Hindu elements, has no right whatsoever to utter a single word on honesty.
