The district administration Ramban, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, in close coordination with the Police Department, carried out a prompt rescue and relief operation following an unfortunate road mishap involving the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra convoy early this morning.

The last vehicle of the Pahalgam-bound convoy reportedly lost control near the Chanderkote Langar site and collided with a few stranded vehicles. The incident resulted in damage to three vehicles and minor injuries to 18 Yatris. As part of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra arrangements, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan along with SSP Ramban Arun Gupta, SSP NHW Raja Adil Hamid and ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, was already present in the area.

The officers immediately supervised the rescue operation, ensuring the swift evacuation of all injured pilgrims to District Hospital Ramban, where they received prompt medical attention and necessary treatment. The Deputy Commissioner personally visited the hospital to monitor the treatment of the injured pilgrims.

He interacted with the Yatris to enquire about their well-being and directed the Chief Medical Officer and medical staff to ensure the best possible healthcare and all necessary assistance. After receiving first aid and medical treatment, all the injured pilgrims were discharged from the hospital.

The District Administration subsequently arranged separate vehicles to facilitate their onward journey to the Holy Cave Shrine. The prompt and well-coordinated response of the District Administration, Police, Health Department and other concerned agencies ensured timely rescue, quality medical care and the smooth continuation of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, reaffirming the administration's commitment to the safety, security and well-being of all pilgrims.
