Komal Mittal Reviews Progress of SIR-2026

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today chaired the daily online review meeting to assess the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 in the district and reviewed the status of various activities being undertaken under the revision process.
Reviewing the progress of digitization, the Deputy Commissioner informed that 31.31 per cent of the digitization work has been completed in the district so far. She stated that digitization has crossed 90 per cent at 11 polling booths, while 7 polling booths have achieved 80 to 90 per cent progress.
Further, the digitization process has been completed 100 per cent at two polling booths. She directed all Electoral Registration Officers to expedite the remaining work and ensure the completion of the SIR exercise within the prescribed timelines.
The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer also reviewed the rationalization of polling stations and instructed the concerned officers to immediately initiate the creation of additional polling stations wherever the number of electors exceeds 1,200, strictly in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, so as to ensure greater convenience and accessibility for voters.
Emphasizing the importance of timely execution, she directed all officers concerned to complete every component of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 in a transparent, efficient and time-bound manner, while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Geetika Singh, SDM Kharar Gurmeet Singh, Election Tehsildar Harpreet Kaur, and Electoral Registration Officers of the respective Assembly Constituencies.
