Former Punjab Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the Punjab Congress is fully united, strong, and committed to living up to the expectations of the people. He stated that all senior party leaders, MLAs, workers, and supporters would contest the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections together and work towards forming a Congress government that would put Punjab back on the path of development and prosperity.

Balbir Sidhu said that discussions held over dinner with Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel, Punjab Congress President Raja Warring, and other senior Congress leaders clearly demonstrated that the party enjoys complete unity, mutual trust, and a shared vision. He said every Congress leader is working selflessly, placing the interests of Punjab and its people above personal ambitions.

He said that the people of Punjab have become frustrated with the failures of the present government. According to him, deteriorating law and order, the growing drug menace, unemployment, inflation, and stalled development projects have made life difficult for ordinary citizens.

He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party has failed to fulfil the promises on which it came to power, resulting in a significant loss of public confidence. Targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Balbir Sidhu alleged that he had adopted a confrontational approach towards the sanctity of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

He also alleged that a fabricated report was prepared to discredit a viral video. In his view, the Chief Minister, driven by the arrogance of power, attempted to challenge Sri Akal Takht Sahib, which he described as being contrary to the religious sentiments of the people of Punjab.

He added that anyone holding a constitutional office should uphold the dignity and respect of religious institutions under all circumstances. Criticising Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu from Mohali, Balbir Sidhu said that all development promises made during the elections had remained mere announcements.

He stated that residents of Mohali continue to face problems such as poor sewerage, damaged roads, traffic congestion, and inadequate basic infrastructure. According to him, no new college or hospital has been built, nor have any meaningful steps been taken to strengthen the city's infrastructure.

He further said that hospitals and other public welfare projects initiated during the Congress government's tenure remain incomplete. He alleged that instead of completing these important projects, the present government has neglected them, depriving people of better healthcare, education, and other essential services.

He added that Mohali, which should have emerged as a model of development, has witnessed an almost complete halt in development works. Balbir Sidhu said that the Congress Party has a long history of contributing to the progress of India and Punjab, strengthening democracy, and promoting public welfare.

He stated that Congress has consistently prioritised development, education, healthcare, industry, farmers' welfare, and the protection of people's rights. Even today, he said, the party remains committed to meeting the aspirations of the people of Punjab and the country.

He added that every party leader and worker is functioning like one family to provide Punjab with a stable, accountable, and development-oriented government. Balbir Sidhu said that the Congress Party has always stood as the voice of the people and will continue to fight for every issue concerning public welfare.

He said that the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections will determine the future direction of the state, and the people will choose a government based on performance rather than false promises. He expressed confidence that the people of Punjab would give the Congress Party a decisive mandate, enabling it to form a government focused on development, good governance, and people-centric policies.

Among those present on the occasion were former Mohali Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu, Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr. Amar Singh, Punjab Congress NRI Cell Chairman Captain Sandeep Sandhu, former Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana K.P. Singh, former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira, and several other senior Congress leaders.
