Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab today commemorated the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee by paying rich floral tributes to the great nationalist leader at the party's State Headquarters in Sector 37, Chandigarh. Punjab BJP State President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon led the tribute ceremony by offering floral tributes to Dr. Mukherjee.
As part of the celebrations, he also planted a tree in the premises of the State Headquarters, reaffirming the party's commitment to environmental conservation. The programme was attended by senior party leaders, office-bearers and BJP workers from across the region.
Addressing the gathering, Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon said that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation and the protection of India's unity and integrity. He said that Dr. Mukherjee's unwavering commitment to nationalism, democratic values and the vision of a strong and united India continues to inspire generations of Indians.
Dhillon said that Dr. Mukherjee firmly believed in the principle of "One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag" and made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country. He added that every BJP worker draws inspiration from Dr. Mukherjee's ideals of selfless service, patriotism and national unity.
He urged party workers to follow the path shown by Dr. Mukherjee and work with dedication for the welfare of society and the progress of the nation.
