As part of the series of special events being organised by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, a Special Kirtan Darbar will be held on July 3, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dussehra Ground (Pytex Ground), Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar. During the religious congregation, renowned Raagi Jathas will perform the divine hymns (Gurbani Kirtan) of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji.
To review the arrangements for the event, Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Shri Dalwinderjit Singh today chaired a meeting at the District Administrative Complex with administrative officers, district officials of various departments and representatives of the Sri Guru Ravidas community.
During the meeting, he informed that the Special Kirtan Darbar would be organised at Dussehra Ground (Pytex Ground), D-Block, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, where Raagi Jathas would recite the sacred Gurbani of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all officers concerned to ensure that the entire event is organised in strict accordance with religious traditions and decorum. He instructed that special attention be paid to the convenience of the devotees by making adequate arrangements for Guru Ka Langar, drinking water and other essential facilities.
He also directed that dedicated teams be deployed for vehicle parking and shoe-keeping services, with the cooperation of representatives of religious organisations. Furthermore, he instructed officials of the Municipal Corporation to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation at the venue throughout the event.
Deputy Commissioner Shri Dalwinderjit Singh appealed to the residents of the district to participate in the Special Kirtan Darbar being organised on July 3, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dussehra Ground (Pytex Ground), Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, and seek the blessings of the Guru by attending the religious congregation.
Among those present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Pallavi Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Surinder Singh, SDM Amritsar-I Alka Kalia, SDM Amritsar-II Gurmandar Singh, SDM Lopoke Manbir Singh Dhillon, Deputy CEO, District Employment Bureau Teerath Pal Singh, District Tourism Officer Sukhman Singh, along with officials from various departments and leaders of the Sri Guru Ravidas community.
On the occasion, representatives of the Sri Guru Ravidas community also honoured Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Surinder Singh in recognition of their support and efforts towards the successful organisation of the commemorative event.
