DC, SSP Anantnag conduct joint inspection of Frisking Point, Base Camp Nunwan

Giving final shape to the necessary arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat (Yatra Officer Pahalgam Axis), along with SSP Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure, conducted a joint inspection of the Frisking Point and Base Camp Nunwan, Pahalgam today.
The inspection aimed to review the security measures and other facilities being put in place for smooth conduct of the Yatra. During the inspection, the officers took a detailed assessment of the arrangements at both locations, including security measures, frisking and checking arrangements, deployment of security personnel, regulation of pilgrim movement, traffic management, entry and exit points, accommodation facilities, sanitation, healthcare services, drinking water supply, electricity supply, communication facilities and other essential amenities.
The Deputy Commissioner and SSP asked the concerned officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements and maintain close coordination among all stakeholders for the safe and hassle-free movement of pilgrims. They emphasized effective crowd management, proper monitoring of vulnerable points and prompt response mechanisms at all important locations.
While reviewing the facilities at Base Camp Nunwan, the DC stressed upon maintaining cleanliness, ensuring availability of essential services and providing necessary assistance to the pilgrims. He instructed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable pilgrimage experience for devotees during SANJY-2026.
The departments were further asked to remain prepared and ensure timely redressal of any issues during the Yatra period. The officers also reviewed disaster management preparedness and availability of emergency response teams and equipment to deal with any unforeseen situation.
The inspection was attended by senior officers from Civil Administration, Police Department, Pahalgam Development Authority and other concerned departments.
