DC Rajesh Sharma inspects Lakhanpur Corridor ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026

Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today visited Lakhanpur Corridor to oversee final-stage works for the facilitation of pilgrims during the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026. The DC inspected installation of the multi-facility Yatri Hanger and reviewed overall preparedness at Lakhanpur Yatri Facilitation Centre.

He also reviewed security arrangements with SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, who briefed him on the deployment plan, surveillance measures and coordinated security mechanisms being implemented along the corridor. Bituminous work on the corridor has been completed. Infrastructure for eKYC and RFID counters and the dedicated healthcare facility are being set up at the Facilitation Centre.

Toilets, sanitary units and drinking water points have already been established at designated locations. The DC directed executing agencies to complete all remaining works, including finishing touches, within one to two days. DC State Taxes Joginder Jasrotia and officers from executing agencies concerned accompanied the DC during the inspection.
