Review Meeting Held Between Nasha Mukti Morcha and Police Department Under Punjab Government’s “War Against Drugs” Campaign
Emphasis laid on making action against drug traffickers more intensive and effective

An important review meeting was held today between the Nasha Mukti Morcha and the Amritsar Police Department under the Punjab Government’s flagship campaign, “War Against Drugs.” The meeting was chaired by Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar on behalf of the Police Department, while Dikshit Dhawan, In-charge of Majha Zone, Nasha Mukti Morcha, participated along with his team members.
During the meeting, the ongoing action against drug traffickers in Amritsar city was reviewed, and detailed deliberations were held on further strengthening and accelerating the campaign. Special emphasis was laid on empowering police personnel at the SHO level to ensure that drug traffickers operating in localities and neighborhoods are eradicated from the grassroots level.
The participants also discussed measures to strengthen coordination between the public and the police so as to effectively free society from the menace of drugs. Addressing the meeting, Dikshit Dhawan, Majha Zone In-charge of Nasha Mukti Morcha, said that under the directions of the Punjab Government, volunteers of the Morcha are making significant contributions to the “War Against Drugs” campaign.
He stated that members of the Morcha are reaching out to villages and urban localities to mobilize people against drug abuse and trafficking. He added that the Nasha Mukti Morcha stands firmly with the Police Department in its efforts to eliminate the drug menace from society.
During the meeting, officials of the Police Department and representatives of the Nasha Mukti Morcha reaffirmed their commitment to work in close coordination to make the fight against drugs more effective. It was reiterated that the goal of making Punjab a drug-free state can only be achieved through the collective efforts of the government, police administration, and every section of society.
Among those present at the meeting were DCP Law and Order Vijay Alam, ADCP City-1, City-2 and City-3, and DSPs of all subdivisions of Amritsar Commissionerate. Representatives of the Nasha Mukti Morcha, including Honey Nahar, Jai Kush Buttar, Kulwant Singh Wadali, Sahib Singh Gill, Manjit Singh Fauji, and Rahul Seth, were also present.
