Deputy Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal today chaired a review meeting at the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex Doda, to assess and finalise arrangements for the forthcoming and ongoing annual religious yatras across the district.
The meeting conducted a detailed review of arrangements covering security, traffic regulation, transportation, healthcare, fire and emergency response, sanitation, power and water supply, communication and other allied services required for the conduct of the yatras.
DC Doda and SSP Doda reviewed the preparedness of all departments and emphasised the need for seamless coordination among departments. The DC directed all ADCs, SDMs and Tehsildars to personally review arrangements at yatra locations and ensure all necessary facilities are in place well in advance.
Tehsildars were instructed to maintain close coordination with Yatra Management Committees and promptly address any issues arising during the yatras. PHE, PWD, PDD and ARTO were directed to ensure adequate infrastructure and logistical support and to coordinate with the committees for timely resolution of grievances.
Highlighting disaster preparedness, the DC directed Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars to identify vulnerable and disaster-prone stretches along yatra routes, particularly in high-altitude areas and put in place suitable arrangements to ensure the safety of devotees.
SSP Kartik Shrotriya stressed the need for strong local-level coordination among all stakeholders to facilitate the conduct of the yatras and maintain law and order throughout the pilgrimage period. ADC Doda briefed the meeting on permissions for setting up Yatra Langars, emphasising that langars should be established only at safe locations outside disaster-prone areas.
Among those present were Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B), Superintending Engineer Jal Shakti (Hydraulic), Chief Medical Officer and other district officers. Several officers participated through virtual mode.
