Under Mission Jeevni, a Maternal Death Review meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, Mr Himanshu Jain, to review all maternal deaths reported in the district during the months of April and May. Each case was examined in detail to identify gaps in service delivery and fix accountability.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that saving the lives of mothers is a shared responsibility of the public, doctors, and hospitals. No laxity in the provision of maternal healthcare services will be tolerated, and responsibilities will be fixed wherever negligence is established.
