Recognizing and supporting academic excellence across the country, Lovely Professional University (LPU) awarded study grants worth ₹58 lakh to 58 meritorious students from across India at the 7th LPUNEST Study Grant Award Ceremony. The beneficiaries are pursuing higher education at some of the nation’s most prestigious institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIMs, NLUs, IHMs, NIDs, NIFTs, AIIMS, and various Central and State Government universities and colleges (ranked in NIRF India Ranking - Medical).
The LPUNEST Study Grant is an initiative to recognize and support talented and meritorious students, irrespective of whether they are enrolled at LPU or not. Through this programme, the university aims to honour academic excellence and encourage deserving students in their educational journey.
Apart from this grant LPU offers a wide range of scholarships and awards based on performance in prerequisite examinations (10+2 or graduation), sports, culture, research and development, co-curricular activities, social service, and bravery accolades. Additionally, the university provides special scholarships for orphans, physically disabled students, and individuals with a military background.
Since its inception, the LPUNEST Study Grant initiative has benefitted hundreds of deserving students across the country. With the latest edition, the total value of study grants awarded under the programme has reached ₹8.64 crore, reflecting LPU’s sustained efforts to promote educational excellence and make quality education more accessible.
The LPUNEST Study Grant is a unique initiative that recognizes outstanding academic performers and encourages them to pursue their aspirations with confidence. By extending financial support to students studying at leading institutions nationwide, LPU seeks to contribute meaningfully to India's educational ecosystem and nurture future leaders across disciplines.
Congratulating the meritorious students and their parents, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated, “You are the lamps that illuminate the path for others without losing your own light. As you move forward in your academic and professional journeys, remember to extend a helping hand to those who may not have had the same opportunities.
Guide at least one student in your locality towards a better future, especially someone who cannot afford quality guidance or support. If each one of you mentors even one deserving student, the collective impact can transform countless lives and strengthen our society.
At LPU, we have always believed in spreading education beyond classrooms and campuses, and with your support, we want to multiply its reach and impact across the nation.” Dr. Santosh Rangnekar, Professor at IIT Roorkee, inspired the students by emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and skill development.
Dr. Rangnekar said, “Technologies will continue to evolve, but the ability to learn will always remain relevant. Believe in yourself and focus on developing a strong man-machine relationship, where you know how to derive the best outcomes from technology.
This is the era of skill development. The learning that happens outside the classroom should be equal to what happens inside it and LPU is doing an excellent job in creating such opportunities for students.”
Senior dignitaries of LPU, including Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor of LPU, Er. H.R. Singla, Director General of LPU; and Dr. Loviraj Gupta, Pro Vice-Chancellor of LPU, along with faculty members and staff of the university attended the grand ceremony.
Admissions for the academic session 2026–27 are currently open. Aspiring students are encouraged to apply at the earliest to secure their seats and take advantage of the wide range of scholarships, financial aid opportunities, and excellent academic facilities offered by the university.
