The unanimously elected Chairperson of Block Samiti Sunam-2, Navdeep Kaur Sanghrehri, and Vice-Chairperson, Davinder Singh, formally assumed charge of their respective offices today at the B.D.P.O. office in Sangrur in the presence of Cabinet Minister Aman Arora. A large number of Block Samiti members, Panchayati representatives, and prominent local residents were present on the occasion.
Congratulating the newly elected Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson during the ceremony, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that the Block Samiti serves as an important pillar for the overall development of villages. He stated that its role is crucial in strengthening basic infrastructure in rural areas, accelerating development works, and prioritizing the needs of the people.
He further said that development work in the 31 villages under Block Sunam-2 would now gain greater momentum, and every public welfare initiative would be carried out on a priority basis. He added that the Punjab Government remains committed to the comprehensive development of villages and is undertaking large-scale efforts to improve roads, streets, drainage systems, drinking water supply, sanitation, healthcare, and educational infrastructure in rural areas.
The Cabinet Minister emphasized that elected representatives have the responsibility to live up to the expectations of the people and ensure that development schemes are implemented in a transparent manner. He expressed confidence that the new team would discharge its duties with dedication and honesty.
On the occasion, the newly elected Chairperson Navdeep Kaur Sanghrehri and Vice-Chairperson Davinder Singh stated that they would prioritize the development of every village in the block and make every possible effort to address public issues promptly. They further said that they would work collectively with all members and the public to take Block Sunam-2 to new heights of development.
People present at the event also extended their congratulations to the newly elected office-bearers and expressed their hopes for the region’s progress. B.D.P.O. Sangrur, Gurdarshan Singh, along with various other officials, was also present on the occasion.
