Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib on Monday chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Education Department Bandipora at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Bandipora, to assess the progress of various educational initiatives and technology-driven programmes being implemented across the district.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on APAAR ID generation, UDISE data updation, Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), ULLAS, CWSN support mechanisms and other educational interventions. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for effective use of technology in the education sector and emphasized accurate data capturing, timely updation of records and regular monitoring for better governance and improved learning outcomes.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that real-time data capturing is essential for improving ILM (knowledge) and strengthening academic monitoring. She further directed that various bots and technology-driven interventions in the education sector shall be monitored on a weekly basis to ensure their effective implementation and progress.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to strengthen collaboration with CSC centres to facilitate Aadhaar enrolment and corrections for students facing difficulties. The meeting also reviewed various UDISE data issues, including dropbox students, infrastructure details and updation of teachers’ records.

Concerned officials and Heads of Institutions were instructed to take immediate corrective measures to ensure accuracy and completeness of data on the UDISE portal. While reviewing the Vidya Samiksha Kendra initiatives, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of digital learning platforms and data-driven decision making in improving attendance, governance and learning outcomes.

She also stressed the need for maximum student and teacher participation in Vidya Samiksha Kendra initiative and other digital learning platforms. It was informed during the meeting that an orientation programme for Vidya Samiksha Kendra initiative would be organised in the month of July to create awareness among students and teachers regarding effective utilisation of the platform.

The meeting also discussed issues concerning Children with Special Needs (CWSN). The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to organise a special camp in Gurez for children with special needs to facilitate better access to support services and assessments.

He further directed officers to ensure close monitoring of all educational programmes. Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Education Officer Bandipora, along with all nodal officers of various educational initiatives, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), Principals, and Headmasters of both government and private schools.
