DC Abhishek Sharma reviews preparations for International Yoga Day celebration

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the smooth conduct of the International Yoga Day celebration scheduled to be held on June 21, 2026. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparedness of all concerned departments and stressed the need for coordinated efforts to ensure the successful conduct of the event across the district.

The DC directed the concerned officers to make necessary arrangements for the observance of International Yoga Day in Vibrant Villages and at de-addiction centres to maximize outreach and promote the message of healthy living and well-being among all sections of society.

He also instructed the officers to identify and develop one iconic location in the district for the main Yoga Day event, ensuring wide participation and creating a memorable experience for participants. Emphasizing the importance of yoga in promoting physical and mental wellness, the Deputy Commissioner called upon all departments to ensure active public participation and make the event a grand success.

ADDC Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq, PO ICDS, Harpal Singh, CMO Manohar Lal Rana, CEO Mohd Hafeez, District Ayush Officer, DySP, Satish Sharma, Executive Engineer PHE Sudesh Kumar and other district and sectoral officers of various departments attended the meeting.
