Rs.1 Crore to Be Allocated for Development Works in Each Ward of Ambala Cantonment says Anil Vij

Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh.Anil Vij said that an amount of  Rs. 1 crore will be allocated to each of the 32 wards of the Ambala Cantonment Municipal Council to accelerate development works in their respective wards. He said that they will submit proposals based on the developmental needs of their wards, following which the funds will be released at the earliest to ensure effective execution of local development projects.

Sh. Vij was chairing a review meeting in Chandigarh regarding ongoing and proposed development projects being undertaken by the Ambala Cantonment Municipal Council. The meeting was attended by Urban Local Bodies Department Commissioner and Secretary Sh. Ashok Kumar Meena, Director Sh. Mukul Kumar and other senior officials.

During the meeting, a detailed review of various ongoing and proposed development schemes in Ambala Cantonment was conducted. Officials informed the Minister that approval has already been granted for the construction of a state-of-the-art e-Library at Subhash Park, and work on the project will commence shortly. 

Sh. Vij directed that the facility should be developed keeping both present and future requirements in mind and should be equipped with modern digital learning and study facilities. Sh. Vij also informed that a modern shopping complex is proposed on Rambagh Road in Ambala Cantonment, which will promote commercial activities in the area and provide improved amenities to local residents.

The meeting also reviewed the proposal for the construction of a squash court at Subhash Park. Officials apprised that the concept design and detailed cost estimates are currently being prepared and that further action will be initiated soon. Discussions were also held regarding the development of a Composite Integrated Dairying Complex, a Veterinary Hospital, and other infrastructure projects. 

Sh. Vij directed the concerned departments to take these projects forward on a priority basis. A review was also conducted regarding the expansion and strengthening of the sewerage network in Nanhera, Milap Nagar, Rangia Mandi, Anand Vihar, and adjoining areas of Ambala Cantonment. 

Officials informed the Minister that tenders for these sewerage works would be invited shortly to address the long-pending requirements of residents. In addition, detailed discussions were held on the proposed Freight Corridor Project and the construction of a new Municipal Council building. 

Sh. Vij directed officials to ensure that the new building is designed keeping future administrative requirements, modern facilities, and expansion of public services in view. Officials assured him that the project would be planned accordingly.

Sh. Vij also emphasized the need for a comprehensive CCTV surveillance network across Ambala Cantonment. He said that Ambala Cantonment holds significant strategic and security importance, making it essential to further strengthen public safety, traffic management, and surveillance mechanisms. 

He directed officials to initiate the installation of CCTV cameras through the Municipal Council at the earliest. Officials informed the meeting that a project worth approximately Rs. 10 crore has already been prepared for the establishment of a modern CCTV surveillance system in Ambala Cantonment and will soon be submitted to the government for approval.

The meeting also reviewed several other development projects and schemes aimed at the planned and holistic development of Ambala Cantonment. Sh. Vij instructed officials to expedite all necessary procedures and ensure timely completion of projects so that citizens can benefit at the earliest.

Among those present at the meeting were Sh. Devender Narwal, Executive Officer of the Ambala Cantonment Municipal Council, along with other senior officials of the Council and concerned departments.
