DC Pankaj Kumar Sharma reviews preparations for International Day of Yoga 2026

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting of district officers at the Mini Secretariat to review arrangements for the 12th International Day of Yoga, scheduled for June 21 under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”

The main district-level function will be held at the historic Chowgan Ground Kishtwar, subject to clear weather, with simultaneous celebrations planned across all sub-divisional, tehsil and block headquarters to ensure widespread public participation. During the meeting, District Nodal Officer AYUSH Kishtwar Dr Vikram Singh Jamwal briefed the chair on the action plan. 

Pankaj Kumar Sharma called for seamless inter-departmental coordination and directed all sectoral officers to finalise logistics, sanitation, drinking water, power backup, public address systems and first-aid services well in advance to ensure a smooth event.

Among those present were Additional District Development Commissioner Vinod Kumar Behnal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kotwal, Programme Officer ICDS Rishi Kumar Sharma, CEO KDA Kaiser Bhawani, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Idrees Lone, Assistant Superintendent of Police Pardeep Singh, Chief Planning Officer Akhil Thakur, Assistant Commissioner Development Manoj Kumar and District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Parveaz Qazi, alongside other district officers and engineers concerned.
