Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today made it categorically clear that he had full respect for the country's constitutional and statutory bodies, including the Punjab State Scheduled Caste Commission. However, he said, the current chairman of the commission Jasvir Singh Garhi was acting like the representative of the Aam Aadmi Party and its government and he had no faith in him and will not be appearing before him at any cost.
He said he will be seeking justice from the courts. Replying to a question whether he will appear before the commission chairman in relation to a summons, he said, Garhi has continuously acted as a representative of the AAP and does things with a political motive and purpose. He pointed out, as head of the SC Commission, he is autonomous and independent of the government. “But unfortunately he is not doing justice to the job he has been assigned with”, Warring remarked.
Replying to a question on Congress victory in Gurdaspur and Dina Nagar, Warring said, “the writing is on the wall that the Congress is coming and the AAP is going”. “I have said it earlier and I am repeating and reiterating it again that the AAP will not touch the double digit mark in Punjab and the party stands completely exposed before people”, he said, adding, within next six months, people may not even remember the party’s name.
He said the AAP’s claims about the municipal election results will prove misplaced, as these elections have never been an indicator for the assembly elections. About the party’s activities ahead, he said, Congress, unlike small parties such as AAP and Akalis, is a national party and its working is different from the smaller parties.
He said the party was planning a comprehensive mass mobilization campaign, which will start very soon and go right up to the elections.
