Kewal Singh Dhillon Flags Off Panch Teerth Yatra Associated with Dr. Ambedkar’s Life

BJP Punjab President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Saturday flagged off three Volvo buses carrying devotees on the Panch Teerth Yatra associated with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's life and legacy. The week-long pilgrimage aims to provide participants an opportunity to visit the historic sites connected with Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, which have been developed and preserved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking on the occasion, Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the Panch Teerth Yatra, scheduled from June 14 to June 21, 2026, will cover five prominent pilgrimage sites linked to Dr. Ambedkar's life, struggles, and contribution to social justice. He stated that the BJP-led government has invested thousands of crores of rupees in the development of these memorials while also creating awareness about their historical and social significance.

During the yatra, devotees will visit Mhow (Birthplace of Dr. Ambedkar), Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur, Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai, Mahaparinirvan Sthal in Delhi, and the Virtual Shiksha Bhoomi (London), established in Delhi. These locations collectively represent the journey and achievements of Babasaheb and serve as symbols of equality, education, and social empowerment.

Highlighting the government's commitment to preserving Dr. Ambedkar's legacy, Kewal Singh Dhillon said that nearly ₹2,000 crore has been spent on the development and maintenance of these sites so that future generations can draw inspiration from Babasaheb's ideals and vision for an inclusive society.

Around 150 devotees are participating in this unique pilgrimage. The delegation is being led by S.R. Laddhar, President of BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha Punjab and former IAS officer.Addressing the gathering, Laddhar said that the primary objective of the Panch Teerth Yatra is to take the message of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to every section of society and express the nation's gratitude towards his immense contribution to social justice and constitutional values.

He further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all five pilgrimage sites associated with Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar have received unprecedented national recognition and honour, enabling millions of people to connect with his life and teachings.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from BJP workers, social organizations, and devotees who hailed the initiative as a meaningful effort to promote awareness about Dr. Ambedkar's contribution to nation-building and social transformation.
