Dr Ishank Kumar distributes 191 ration kits

Under the Punjab Government's flagship Meri Rasoi scheme, MLA Dr Ishank Kumar on Saturday distributed 191 special ration kits to the beneficiaries in Thakkarwal village of the district. Addressing the gathering, Dr Kumar said the Punjab government was committed to supporting needy and economically weaker families.
He said that every beneficiary family would receive a specially prepared kitchen kit once every three months. The kit would include mustard oil, pulses, sugar, salt, turmeric and other essential grocery items required for daily household needs.
MLA also asserted that the scheme would provide significant relief to poor and underprivileged families struggling with rising household expenses due to inflation. Meanwhile, MLA also informed that a series of infrastructure development projects worth Rs 4.01 crore have been sanctioned for Thakkarwal, aimed at strengthening civic amenities and improving connectivity in the constituency.
It includes the construction of a Panchayat Ghar (Rs 3.50 lakh), a stadium (Rs 5 lakh), street and drain works (Rs 3 lakh), and a kitchen at the Government High School (Rs 2 lakh). Other projects include the construction of a street and drains from the main road to Manjh Jathere, Rangla Punjab (Rs 8 lakh), street and drain development with funds of Rs 14.29 lakh, Rs. 7 lakh for construction of a gymnasium and the construction of a link road from Thakkarwal Dihana Road to Manjh Jathere at a cost of Rs 8 lakh.
All these works have been completed and there is a wave of appreciation among villagers for these works. Two major road projects include the construction of the Bham Thakarwal–Dihana–Kukowal–Mayo Patti road up to the Municipal Council limit at a cost of Rs 3.31 crore, besides the Bham Thakarwal Road-to-Thappal road project worth Rs 20 lakh.
Both these projects are sanctioned and the work will commence soon. MLA Dr Ishank Kumar said the projects would significantly strengthen local infrastructure and improve public facilities in the area. He said the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, was committed to accelerating development across the state.
He also said that modern infrastructure was being developed in government schools and hospitals to ensure quality services for citizens. He reiterated that the state government had laid special emphasis on strengthening rural infrastructure and public welfare services.
He also warned the contractors to ensure use of quality material and timely completion.
