AAP’s State Chief Spokesperson, MLA and former Punjab Minister, S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, said that the government led by Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously working to uplift the living standards of minority Christian communities, along with all sections of society, under the principle of “Manas Ki Jaat Sabhe Eko Pehchanbo” and towards the creation of a prosperous and vibrant Punjab.

He said that the Mann Government has taken another step for the welfare of the Christian community by releasing generous grants for the construction of Christian community halls in villages across the state. In the first phase, ₹15.25 crore has been received for the construction of community halls in 61 villages of the Ajnala Assembly constituency.

Dhaliwal made this announcement while addressing an impressive gathering during the distribution of sanction letters worth ₹15.25 crore to the concerned Gram Panchayats for the construction of 61 community halls, each costing ₹25 lakh. He said that these community halls, being constructed with government grants, will be available to the Christian community for social and religious gatherings, weddings, prayer meetings, and meetings concerning community issues.

As a result, the community will be relieved of the heavy financial burden associated with renting private marriage palaces and halls for such occasions. Taking a swipe at previous governments, Dhaliwal alleged that their policies of “divide and rule,” aimed merely at vote-bank and monetary politics, not only deepened social divisions but also pushed Christians, Dalits and other sections of society to the margins due to poor economic conditions.

He said that while the State Minority Commission is already functioning to ensure justice for the Christian community, the government has now initiated the process of establishing official Christian Welfare Boards at the district level across the state and at the constituency level in all 117 Assembly constituencies. Each board will consist of 13 members, including a Chairman, Senior Vice-Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

These boards are intended to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits of welfare schemes and that community issues are addressed promptly. Dhaliwal appealed to all sections of society to strengthen the hands of the Mann Government and asserted that in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, voters would decisively defeat the opposition parties and return the Mann Government to power with a landslide victory of at least 100 seats, enabling it to continue its comprehensive agenda of public welfare.

He said that the writing on the wall should already be clear to the opposition.
