Directs Strengthening of Digital Health Services and Infrastructure

The Executive Committee of the State Health Society, National Health Mission (NHM), U.T. Chandigarh, today reviewed the implementation of various National Health Programmes under the chairmanship of the Secretary Health Shri Mandip Singh Brar. During the meeting, the Secretary Health emphasized the need to make all health facilities paperless and further strengthen the Hospital Management Information System (NextGen e-Hospital developed by NIC) to enhance efficiency and user experience.
Directions were also issued to address any gaps in the IT infrastructure on priority. The Committee reviewed data pertaining to deliveries and caesarean sections conducted during the last financial year at major healthcare institutions, including PGIMER, GMCH-32, GMSH-16, SDH Manimajra, UCHC-22, UCHC-45 and ESI Hospital, Ram Darbar.
It was directed that beneficiary data from outside Chandigarh be analysed on a district-wise and State/UT-wise basis to identify major referral catchment areas and facilitate better coordination with the concerned States. Progress of infrastructure development works under PM-ABHIM for four Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (UAAMs) was also reviewed.
The concerned departments were directed to expedite pending issues and ensure timely utilization of funds. Programme-wise expenditure for the financial year 2025-26 will be reviewed in the next meeting. The Committee further directed that the status of Fire Safety NOCs and the feasibility of obtaining ISO certification for eligible health facilities be reviewed and submitted within 15 days.
A separate review of the National TB Elimination Programme will also be undertaken. The Health Department was also asked to prepare an awareness video on various National Health Programmes related to the health and development of school children.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Secretary Health, Director Health & Family Welfare-cum-Mission Director (NHM), Nodal Officer (NHM), representatives of the AYUSH Department, Regional Director (MoHFW), and Programme Officers of the Health Department.
