Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, U.T. Chandigarh, today addressed a press conference regarding the Enumeration Phase under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Photo Electoral Roll with reference to 01.07.2026, being undertaken as per the directions of the Election Commission of India. Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, District Election Officer, Sh. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS, Electoral Registration Officer, Sh. Sorabh Kumar Arora, PCS, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Naveen, DANICS, Nodal Officer (SVEEP), and Sh. Rajiv Tewari, Nodal Officer (Media and Social Media), were also present during the press conference.

The Chief Electoral Officer informed that there are presently 5,16,427 electors in the constituency. All Enumeration Forms have been downloaded, printed and are ready for distribution. The Enumeration Phase will commence on June 15, 2026 and continue till July 14, 2026. Necessary arrangements, including comprehensive training of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Booth Level Agents (BLAs), BLO Supervisors and other stakeholders, have been completed.

During the Enumeration Phase, BLOs will conduct door-to-door visits for distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms. Every elector will be provided two copies of the form and assistance, wherever required, in filling the same. In cases where houses are found locked, BLOs will leave the forms at the premises and make at least three follow-up visits on different dates for collection.

Electors may submit duly filled Enumeration Forms to their concerned BLOs or through the ECINet Mobile App and the Voters’ Service Portal. Online submissions will be verified by the concerned BLO.

Electors have been requested to provide mapping details from the previous SIR conducted in 2002–2003. In cases where such details are unavailable, electors may provide details of their parents or grandparents recorded in the SIR of 2002–2003 or the recently conducted SIR of 2025–2026 in 12 States/UTs.

The previous SIR records can be searched through the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Chandigarh, the ECINet Mobile App or the Voters’ Service Portal. However, submission of the Enumeration Form will not be denied if mapping details are not available, and such electors will continue to be included in the Draft Electoral Roll.

Eligible residents whose names are not included in the Electoral Roll may submit Form-6 along with the prescribed declaration. Such applications will be processed after publication of the Draft Electoral Roll during the Claims and Objections period.

Recognized political parties and their BLAs have been requested to actively participate in the exercise, assist electors in submission of Enumeration Forms, and provide information regarding eligible un-enrolled residents as well as deceased, shifted, duplicate or otherwise ineligible electors. The Election Department, U.T. Chandigarh, appeals to all electors, political parties, Resident Welfare Associations, educational institutions and other stakeholders to actively participate in the Enumeration Phase and extend full cooperation for preparation of a complete, accurate and error-free Electoral Roll.

For any information or assistance, electors may contact their concerned BLO, avail the “Book a Call” facility on ECINet, or call the Voter Helpline 1950, which will function round the clock during the revision. Help Desks have also been established at various locations to facilitate citizens.
