12 Years of Modi Government : A Historic Journey of Service, Good Governance, Welfare and the Vision of Viksit Bharat says Jatinder Pal Malhotra

A press conference was addressed by BJP Chandigarh State President Jatinder Pal Malhotra at the BJP Chandigarh State Office, Kamalam, Sector-33. On this occasion, State Vice President Indira Singh, State Vice President Naresh Panchal, State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti, Sanjeev Rana, State Media In-charge Ravi Rawat, State Secretaries Meenakshi Thakur and Manish Sharma were specially present.

Addressing the press conference, Jatinder Pal Malhotra said that the 12 years of the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have become a golden chapter of service, good governance, welfare of the poor, women empowerment, social justice, unprecedented infrastructure development and nation-building. He said that under the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas,” nearly 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty in recent years.

Malhotra stated that the Modi Government brought transparency and accountability through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Benefits were transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, eliminating lakhs of fake beneficiaries and preventing nearly ₹4.31 lakh crore from falling into the wrong hands. More than 58 crore Jan Dhan accounts have been opened, including over 32 crore accounts belonging to women. 

More than 81 crore citizens continue to receive free food grains from the period of the COVID pandemic till date. He said that over 60 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Cards have been issued, ensuring free healthcare security for millions of families. 

More than 58 crore people have received social security coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. Highlighting rural development, he said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, clean tap water has been provided to more than 16 crore households, while over 12 crore toilets have been constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission. 

More than 74 lakh street vendors have benefited through PM SVANidhi. Under the Mudra Yojana, over 57 crore collateral-free loans have been sanctioned, while PM Vishwakarma Yojana has benefited millions of traditional artisans and craftsmen. Speaking about farmers’ welfare, Malhotra said that more than ₹4.3 lakh crore has been directly transferred to over 11 crore farmers under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. 

More than 7 crore farmers have benefited from affordable credit through the Kisan Credit Card Scheme. He further stated that ₹15,000 crore has been allocated for the welfare of tribal communities, while ₹79,000 crore has been earmarked for the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan. 

Under the Lakhpati Didi Scheme, more than 3 crore women have been empowered economically. More than 4.5 crore Sukanya Samriddhi accounts have been opened, while the number of women officers in security forces has increased from 3,000 to over 11,000.

In the field of environmental protection, the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is promoting solar energy across the country with a target of installing rooftop solar systems in one crore households. He said that the journey from 2014 to 2026 has been a journey of development, good governance and self-reliance. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi firmly believes that development is a mission that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and throughout the year. The work culture of the country has changed significantly, ensuring that projects are not only inaugurated but also completed on time.

Highlighting infrastructure achievements, he said that the length of National Highways has increased from 91,287 km in 2014 to over 1.46 lakh km today. Highway construction speed has increased from 11.6 km per day in 2014 to nearly 34 km per day.

In the railway sector, nearly 99.6% of the broad-gauge network has been electrified, and over 1,337 railway stations are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He said that the metro network, which was only 248 km across 5 cities in 2014, has now expanded to over 1,095 km across more than 26 cities, making India one of the fastest-growing metro networks in the world.

Malhotra further stated that while only 74 airports existed in the first 67 years after Independence, more than 90 new airports have been built in the last 12 years, taking the total number beyond 164. India has emerged as the world’s third-largest domestic aviation market, and the UDAN Scheme has made air travel accessible to ordinary citizens.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is rapidly moving towards becoming a developed nation and one of the world’s leading economies. The 12 years of the Modi Government are not merely a record of achievements but a success story of the trust, participation and collective efforts of 140 crore Indians. 

This journey of service, good governance and welfare will continue to strengthen the foundation of a developed, self-reliant and prosperous India.
