Under CM Nayab Singh Saini’s Leadership, Haryana’s Panchayats Have Been Empowered

Villages Are Becoming the Foundation of Viksit Bharat: Krishan Lal Panwar

Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar, expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini for the successful organization of the State-Level Sashakt Panchayat Samaroh, said that under his leadership, the state's Panchayats have received unprecedented powers, resources and recognition. By making Panchayats genuine partners in the development process, the Haryana Government is continuously working towards making villages self-reliant, clean, modern and prosperous.

Sh. Panwar said that during the ceremony, the Chief Minister’s release of Rs. 2,697 crore to beneficiaries under various schemes reflects the government's commitment to the upliftment of the poor. In addition, the Chief Minister awarded a total prize amount of Rs. 1.66 crore under the ‘Jagrit Gram Award’ to six Gram Panchayats of the state that demonstrated outstanding performance in cleanliness and development, which will serve as an inspiration for other villages.

Sh. Panwar said that the inauguration of 350 Atal Libraries, the launch of LED streetlight projects, and the direct delivery of benefits from numerous rural development schemes to the people demonstrate that the present government is working with full commitment towards the holistic development of villages. Providing major relief to poor families in rural areas, the government has extended the application deadline for granting ownership rights to houses built on Shamlat land for the past 20 years until January 16, 2027, which is a significant step towards social security.

Panchayats Will Play a Decisive Role in Achieving the Goal of Viksit Bharat-2047

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the country has completed a historic journey of 12 years of service, good governance and welfare of the poor. The Prime Minister envisioned villages not as the last point of development but as its primary centre, and Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is effectively implementing that vision in Haryana. 

Today, Panchayats in the state are not merely units of local administration but are emerging as a strong foundation for realizing the goal of Viksit Bharat-2047. The Panchayats Minister said that the path to a developed India passes through its villages. Only when villages become clean, drug-free, educated, digital and self-reliant will the vision of a developed India be realized. Keeping this objective in mind, the Haryana Government is continuously working to grant more powers to Panchayats, strengthen rural infrastructure, establish modern libraries for youth and promote women’s empowerment.

Sh. Panwar said that the Chief Minister’s call to strengthen waste management systems in villages, promote electric vehicles, encourage natural farming, conserve water, expand sports culture and strengthen anti-drug campaigns will provide new momentum to rural development. He added that Panchayats are not only a means of implementing development works but also the most effective link for social transformation and public awareness.

Expressing confidence, he said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana’s Panchayats will play a leading role in building Viksit Haryana and Viksit Bharat-2047, creating a new chapter in rural development.
