Yoga inspires self-confidence, self-reliance and positive thinking, says Minister

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, said that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a medium that connects the body, mind and soul. The very meaning of the word “Yoga” is “to unite.” Regular practice of yoga energises the body, calms the mind and enhances concentration.

The Agriculture Minister was addressing a Yoga Protocol Training Programme organised at the Maharishi Yoga Patanjali Auditorium of Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University (CRSU), Jind. The programme was a part of the 12th International Day of Yoga celebrations.

Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that every individual should listen to the voice of his or her inner conscience before undertaking any task. When a person acts in accordance with the guidance of the soul, he remains on the right path. Knowledge may be acquired from external sources, but the process of internalising and implementing it in life comes from within. 

He said that India’s saints, sages and great spiritual leaders have always guided humanity towards self-realisation, truth and righteousness. The Minister said that the teachings and values imparted by these great personalities continue to guide society even today. 

Through their sacrifice and spiritual practices, they conveyed the message that self-realisation is the true purpose of life. Their teachings inspire people to embrace love, compassion, tolerance and service to humanity. 

By following their ideals, individuals can not only make their own lives meaningful but also play an important role in bringing positive change to society. Highlighting India’s contribution to the world, the Agriculture Minister said that yoga is one of the country’s greatest cultural gifts to humanity. 

Today, the importance of yoga has been acknowledged across the globe. Through yoga, individuals attain inner peace and experience positive transformation in their lives. Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that regular yoga practice keeps the body healthy, reduces mental stress and helps prevent many ailments. 

Through International Yoga Day, the entire world is recognising the power of yoga. He added that the Prime Minister has been making continuous efforts to take yoga to every section of society, as a result of which yoga has evolved into a global movement.

Referring to the vision of a Developed India by 2047, the Minister said that this goal can be achieved only when every citizen becomes healthy, aware, self-confident and self-reliant. Yoga inspires self-reliance, self-confidence and positive thinking. 

When individuals become stronger, society and the nation also become stronger. He said that if India’s 1.40 crore citizens resolve to become healthy, aware and self-reliant, the dream of a Developed India will certainly be realised. 

In this journey, yoga will play an extremely important role, said the Cabinet Minister.
