With the objective of further strengthening the Punjab Government's anti-drug campaign, "Yudh Nashean Virudh," Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal today held a review meeting at Saurabh Complex, Lehra Gaga, with village Sarpanches, Panches, representatives of Village Level Defence Committees, campaign coordinators, and leaders from various sections of society.

Reviewing the activities being carried out under the campaign, the Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is taking stringent action against drug traffickers and anti-social elements.

He stated that while breaking the drug supply chain is crucial, eliminating the demand for drugs is also a collective responsibility of society. Barinder Kumar Goyal said that under the "Yudh Nashean Virudh" campaign, strict legal action is being taken against a large number of drug traffickers.

Effective action is also being initiated against properties illegally acquired through the drug trade. He emphasized that no individual involved in the drug business would be spared. The Cabinet Minister stated that drug addiction affects not only an individual but also entire families and society as a whole.

Therefore, elected village representatives, youth, social organizations, and Village Level Defence Committees should work in coordination to further intensify public awareness efforts against drugs. He appealed to village Sarpanches and Panches to make special efforts to engage young people in sports, education, employment, and other constructive activities.

He further said that any information regarding the sale or trafficking of drugs should be immediately shared with the police and administration so that strict action can be taken against those responsible. Goyal said that instead of isolating individuals affected by drug addiction from society, efforts should be made to support their treatment and rehabilitation.

The Punjab Government is providing every possible assistance to such individuals through de-addiction and rehabilitation centres. He added that the creation of a drug-free Punjab cannot be achieved solely through government efforts; it requires the active participation and cooperation of every section of society.

Every citizen must play a meaningful role in this fight against drugs to protect future generations from the menace of addiction. During the meeting, participants shared information about the initiatives being undertaken in their respective areas to combat drug abuse and also offered suggestions to make the campaign more effective.

Present on the occasion were Kanta Goyal, President of the Municipal Council, Lehragaga; Rakesh Prakash Garg, SDM; officials from various departments; village Sarpanches and Panches; members of Village Level Defence Committees; social leaders; and other distinguished citizens.
