Nayab Singh Saini Public Hearing in Morni : No Tolerance for Negligence in Public Welfare Works

Realizing the Haryana Government’s spirit of Antyodaya, with the objective of ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach every eligible citizen and that public grievances are addressed at their doorsteps, Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini today listened to people's grievances at Government Polytechnic College, Morni nestled in the lap of nature.

During the grievance redressal programme, the Chief Minister heard public concerns and resolved most of the complaints on the spot. He stated that all remaining grievances received during the programme would be addressed promptly through the concerned departments, ensuring their speedy resolution.

Taking serious cognizance of the delay in installing an electricity transformer to resolve the low-voltage issue in Gram Panchayat Tikkar Hills, the Chief Minister directed the Electricity Department to register an FIR against the concerned contractor. He also ordered strict action against the official found negligent in the execution of the work. 

The Chief Minister categorically stated that no form of negligence in public welfare works would be tolerated. Meanwhile, acting on a complaint regarding alleged irregularities in street construction work in Babarwali village of Kudana Panchayat, the Chief Minister directed that the matter be thoroughly investigated. 

He further instructed that the street construction work be completed expeditiously. Reiterating the government’s commitment to connecting every village in Morni with roads, the Chief Minister said that the scale of road construction undertaken in Morni during the tenure of the BJP government is unprecedented.

While hearing public grievances, the Chief Minister issued a clear directive to officials to listen patiently to the complaints of every individual and ensure their resolution on a priority basis. He warned that strict action would be taken against those found causing unnecessary delays or showing negligence.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government’s objective is to ensure that citizens are not required to make repeated visits to government offices for the redressal of their grievances. He directed officials to accord top priority to public-related work and complete it within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of various schemes and services in a timely and efficient manner.

During the public hearing, the Chief Minister attentively listened to the grievances and demands of people from the Morni region related to electricity, drinking water, roads, healthcare, education, transport, and old-age pensions. He issued necessary directions to the officials of the concerned departments present on the spot, instructing them to ensure the prompt resolution of all complaints and demands. 

The Chief Minister emphasized that all grievances must be resolved within the prescribed timeframe, and a detailed action-taken report should be submitted accordingly. Taking cognizance of complaints regarding delays in the construction of the Samlotha–Jiaghat road (via Kudana Ghat) and the Bhayal–Dundal road, the Chief Minister directed officials of the Public Works Department to commence the construction work immediately. 

He stated that an amount of approximately Rs 2.36 crore should be made available for the project through the Shivalik Development Board. The Chief Minister reaffirmed that there is no shortage of funds for development works, and that projects serving public interest must be implemented on a priority basis.

Responding to the demand for upgrading the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Morni to a Community Health Centre (CHC), the Chief Minister directed that the existing building be expanded and developed into a multi-storeyed facility. He further stipulated that the proposed CHC should be equipped with all essential healthcare facilities, ensuring that residents of the surrounding areas do not need to travel to Panchkula for medical treatment and other health services

Taking cognizance of complaints regarding low-voltage issues in various villages of the Morni block, including Kudana Panchayat, Tikkar Hills, and Bhavnaul, Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini directed officials of the Electricity Department to install new transformers wherever required and undertake the repair and strengthening of power lines. He said these measures are necessary to ensure an uninterrupted and quality power supply to the residents of the region.

Further, in response to a request for providing an electricity connection for a drinking water booster pump in Julu village under Dhrala Panchayat, the Chief Minister directed the Electricity Department to issue the connection without delay. To address the drinking water crisis in Thapli and Matour Panchayats, he instructed the Public Health Engineering Department to lay high-capacity pipelines. 

He also directed officials to prepare a detailed action plan to ensure an uninterrupted drinking water supply to the high-altitude village of Bhoj Jabyal. The Chief Minister added that, if required, arrangements should also be made to supply drinking water to the village through tube wells.

Responding to the demand for the construction of a bridge over the river in Baswala village under Paonta Panchayat, aimed at facilitating the movement of villagers and schoolchildren, the Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to expeditiously prepare a detailed proposal and submit it to the government for consideration.

Present on the occasion were Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Vijayender Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nisha Yadav, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Panchkula Chanderant Kataria, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kalka Sanyam Garg, OSD to the Chief Minister Rakesh Sindhu, Morni Sarpanch Kajal Sharma, BJP Mandal President Deepa Sharma, former member of the Shivalik Development Board Pawan Dhiman, along with sarpanches and villagers from various villages.
