Traders’ and Shopkeepers’ issues must be given priority says Varjeet Walia

Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia today directed officials during an important meeting to prioritize the issues faced by traders and shopkeepers and ensure their timely resolution in a time-bound manner. The Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting with officials and the District Traders Commission at the District Administrative Complex. Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi were specially present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is making continuous and serious efforts to resolve the issues raised by the District Traders Commission. He added that review meetings are held every week to ensure that the concerns of traders are addressed promptly through the concerned departments.
During the meeting, Mr. Walia sought constituency-wise information regarding various issues and directed the officials of the concerned departments to ensure appropriate solutions within the stipulated timeframe. The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to provide timely and suitable solutions to the problems raised by the Traders Commission.
Reviewing pending cases, he directed all departments to work in coordination as a team and provide services to traders in a more efficient manner. He said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to safeguarding the interests of traders, and the district administration will leave no stone unturned in resolving the issues being faced by the trading community.
Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur said that the Commissionerate Police, Jalandhar, is leaving no stone unturned in maintaining security arrangements. She stated that the district police is providing a safe and secure environment to traders and shopkeepers.
Among those present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Divya P., Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amaninder Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Amarjeet Bains, all SDMs, officials of various departments, Traders Commission members Harinder Pal Singh Manocha and Indervansh Singh Chadha, besides other representatives of the Commission including Navneet Juneja, Sumit Sharma, Narendra Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Ajay Verma.
