Parneet Shergill IAS appointed as Election Observer for Municipal Corporation and Council Polls

In view of the upcoming Municipal Corporation Barnala and Municipal Council elections for Tapa, Bhadaur, and Dhanaula scheduled for 26 May, the Punjab State Election Commission has appointed IAS officer Parneet Shergill as the Election Observer for the district. Today, Election Observer Parneet Shergill IAS held a meeting at the District Administrative Complex with Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Harpreet Singh IAS, Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sarfraj Alam IPS, and other senior officers. She reviewed the preparations to ensure the smooth, transparent and peaceful conduct of the elections.

Madam Shergill emphasized that the instructions of the Punjab State Election Commission will be followed meticulously. She directed that the entire election process be conducted with complete transparency and that no laxity or negligence would be tolerated.

 She further stated that any complaint or information related to the elections can be reported to the Complaint Cell set up at the District Administrative Complex on 98767-37961 or via email at sdobarnala01@gmail.com. The polling would be held from 8 am to 5 pm on May 26 and that votes would be counted on May 29 at the designated counting centres, she added.
