Census 2027: House Listing Operations Commence in Barnala District

House listing under the first phase of the Census 2027 commenced today across Barnala district. The exercise will continue till 13 June 2026. Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Harpreet Singh, IAS held a meeting with enumerators and supervisors at the District Administrative Complex today.

He described enumerators as the most vital link in the entire census process and urged them to complete the task with utmost dedication and efficiency. He said that more than 1200 enumerators and supervisors have been deployed across the district. 

The enumerators have been provided with complete kits and will record all data digitally through the HLO (House Listing Operations) App. A total of 33 questions will be asked during the House Listing and Housing Census. 

These include building number, house number, material of the floor, total number of usual residents in the family, availability of vehicles, mobile numbers, and other relevant details. Citizens who have already completed Self Enumeration (SE) are required to show only their SE ID to the enumerator. 

The entire process is fully digital. DC Harpreet Singh emphasized that enumerators performing their duties excellently will be specially honored by the district administration.He directed that any difficulty faced by enumerators should be immediately brought to the notice of the concerned officers for prompt resolution.
