Lok Sabha Member Malvinder Singh Kang on Tuesday directed officials to ensure the effective implementation of welfare schemes so that every eligible beneficiary in the district receives the intended benefits without any delay or discrimination. Chairing a quarter review meeting at the District Administrative Complex, the Member Parliament assessed the progress of various welfare schemes being implemented across the district.

He emphasized that the Government was committed to ensuring all-round development and strengthening the delivery of public welfare services at the grassroots level. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh, Mr. Kang instructed officials to conduct regular monitoring of all ongoing schemes and maintain transparency in their execution.

He said that officers must remain proactive so that deserving beneficiaries are not deprived of facilities meant for them. The MP also reviewed several projects being carried out under the MPLAD scheme and directed the concerned departments to complete all projects within the stipulated timeframe.

He stressed that timely completion of projects was essential to ensure that the public could avail the benefits without inconvenience. Seeking accountability and better coordination among departments, the MP asked officials to submit utilization certificates of already sanctioned funds at the earliest so that additional grants could be released for further development works.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were also held on housing facilities for economically weaker families, availability of potable drinking water, sanitation and cleanliness measures in the district, besides other public welfare initiatives. The MP stated that quarterly review meetings with the district administration were being conducted regularly to ensure proper implementation and monitoring of welfare schemes across the district.
