Municipal Bodies and Panchayati Raj Elections conducted peacefully, fairly and transparently in Haryana

The Haryana State Election Commission successfully conducted the general and by-elections for Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, Municipalities and Panchayati Raj Institutions across the state in a peaceful, fair and well-organised manner.
State Election Commissioner, Devinder Singh Kalyan said that all necessary arrangements were made by the Commission to ensure transparency, fairness and credibility in the election process.During the election process, the State Election Commissioner also inspected various polling stations in Panchkula and reviewed polling arrangements, security measures and voter facilities.
During the inspection, he directed officers to ensure that the voting process was conducted in a completely fair, peaceful and transparent manner and that every voter could exercise their franchise without any inconvenience.He said that under the municipal body elections, polls were held for the Municipal Corporations of Ambala, Panchkula and Sonipat, Rewari Municipal Council and the Municipalities of Dharuhera, Sampla and Uklana. Apart from this, by-elections for wards of varoius municipal areas of the state were also successfully conducted.
Similarly, under Panchayati Raj Institutions, general and by-elections for the posts of Zila Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, Sarpanch and Panch were conducted in different districts.The State Election Commissioner said that the Commission continuously monitored every stage of the election process.
With the coordination of district administration, police administration and concerned officers, the voting process was completed successfully. Special arrangements were made at all polling stations to maintain security, law and order, voter convenience and compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.
Special Focus on Security, Transparency and Voter Facilities at Polling Stations
He said that special monitoring was carried out at sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations to ensure free and fair voting. Micro observers were appointed wherever required, and arrangements such as videography and other monitoring measures were also ensured at polling stations.
The State Election Commissioner said that necessary directions were also issued regarding verification of voter lists, identification of eligible voters and checking duplicate or suspicious entries to maintain the purity of the election process. Complaints and objections received during the process were resolved as per rules to maintain transparency and credibility in the elections.
For the convenience of voters, facilities such as drinking water, shade, seating arrangements, ramps, wheelchairs and other essential amenities were provided at all polling stations. Special arrangements were also made for senior citizens, Persons with disability (PwD) voters and women so that every voter could cast their vote without fear or difficulty.
Expressing gratitude to the voters of the state, the State Election Commissioner said that active participation of voters is very important for strengthening democracy. He said that the people of the state demonstrated their commitment to democratic values by voting peacefully and enthusiastically.
He also appreciated the officers, employees, police personnel and other departments deployed on election duty, stating that the election process was completed successfully due to their cooperation and dedication.He also thanked the media for effectively communicating the directions and appeals of the State Election Commission to all voters.
