Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today inaugurated modern computer labs and science labs equipped with new technology at Government Senior Secondary Smart Schools in village Rohta Sahib and Laut of Patiala Rural constituency. On this occasion, he stated that the Punjab Government’s main objective is to provide every child in villages with quality, modern, and technology-based education equal to that available in urban areas.
Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Punjab Government is continuously striving to give a new direction to the education system. Government schools are being equipped with smart classrooms, computer laboratories, and scientific equipment so that students can gain practical knowledge and be prepared according to the needs of the digital era.
The Health Minister stated that in today’s time, book-based education alone is not sufficient; scientific thinking, understanding of technology, and skill-based education are equally important. These new laboratories will play a significant role in providing practical education to students and strengthening their future.
He added that the government’s dream is that no child should lag behind merely because they live in a village. Every child should get equal opportunities. Therefore, large-scale reforms are being carried out in the education sector.
On this occasion, local villagers, teachers, and students appreciated the government’s initiative and said that these facilities would create new opportunities for children in villages. Dr. Balbir Singh assured that work would continue rapidly towards transforming every government school in Punjab into a modern education centre.
On this occasion, DEOs Sanjeev Kumar and Shalu Mehra, school principals, students, panchs, sarpanches, and villagers were also present.
