100 Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign : Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat reviews preparations for Mega Padyatra

Emphasises synergy, coordination for successful conduct

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat today chaired a high-level meeting at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal, to review the arrangements and preprations for upcoming VVIP Mega Padyatra to be held in the district on 09 May under 100 Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign.

ADC, SEs PWD & Hydraulics, GM DIC, ACR, ACD, SDMs, DFOs, College Principals, CMO, CAO, CAHO, district and sectoral officers and other officials attended the meeting. During the meeting, the DC issued strict instructions to all heads of departments to execute their assigned tasks seamlessly with the highest level of synergy and coordination so the event is organised in a smooth and successful manner.

He directed for streamlining the Padyatra route with robust security protocol besides ensuring mass stakeholder and public participation to make the event a major success. The DC said that the Padyatra is an important facet of the 100-day intensive campaign in which the top dignitaries will visit the district, encouraging all stakeholders and amplifying the message of the campaign.

He emphasized the need for making the rally inclusive and vibrant through broad-based participation from all sections of the society. Dr. Bilal on the occasion underscored the importance of involving social organizations, NGOs, professionals, youth, students and volunteers, progressive farmers, SHGs, civil society members, associations, public representatives, government institutions, and other stakeholders to deliver a strong and unified message against substance abuse.

He asked the departments to meticulously plan and finalize the mobilisation and deinduction plans for a systematic culmination of the event. The DC instructed the concerned officers that the requisite facilities and logistics be installed in advance to ensure seamless conduct of the event.

He directed the ULBs to install adequate number of mobile toilets for the convenience of the participants. Instructions were also issued to the concerned agencies to ensure provision of drinking water, medical care and other essential facilities at the venue as well as along the route.

The concerned departments were directed to ensure proper preparation of the venue and the route in conformity with the SOPs. All departments were asked to immediately designate nodal officers to coordinate and complete their respective ground-level arrangements.

The high profile event marks a major milestone in the district’s ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan and will serve as a catalyst to mobilize the youth and local communities, further bolstering the district's fight against drug abuse.
