Varjeet Walia directs priority-based redressal of traders’ grievances

Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia today directed SDMs and officials of concerned departments to resolve traders’ grievances on a priority basis. During a meeting held at the District Administrative Complex with Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, officials of various departments, and representatives of the Punjab State Traders Commission, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the complaints and emphasized that grievances received online must be resolved within the stipulated time frame.
Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann towards protecting the interests of traders, Mr. Walia said that the district administration is making every possible effort to address the issues faced by the traders community. He informed that complaints from traders are being registered on the government portal and regular weekly meetings are being held to ensure their timely redressal, so that the problems of traders and shopkeepers can be resolved in a time-bound manner.
He also directed various departments to appoint nodal officers to ensure the speedy disposal of complaints. He stressed that departments must work in better coordination to provide efficient services to traders. The Deputy Commissioner further instructed SDMs to give personal attention to the grievances received from traders and called for weekly reviews of progress to ensure prompt resolution of pending issues.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Divya P., Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amaninder Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Tejdeep Singh Saini, Member Punjab Development Commission Ashutosh Dutt, ADCP Akarshi Jain, SP Manjeet Kaur (Rural), State Secretary Trade Wing Harinderpal Singh Manocha, District President (Urban Trade Wing) Indervansh Singh Chadha, District President (Rural Trade Wing) Ashwani Kohli, along with representatives of the Punjab State Traders Commission, all SDMs, and officials of various departments were present.
