A meeting to review arrangements for the smooth conduct of NEET (UG) 2026 examination was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat at Khanabal. The meeting was convened ahead of the NEET (UG) 2026 examination scheduled to be held on May 03, 2026 across the country.

ADMs, Dr. Muzamil Maqbool (ADC) and Tariq Ahmad Malik(ACR), SEs Jal Shakti and PDD, ARTO, DEPO, DIO, Inspector Traffic, City Coordinator NTA (NEET) UG, Exam Observers, Superintendents, Dy. Superintendents and other officials attended the meeting.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for meticulous planning and close coordination among all concerned departments to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly and without any inconvenience to candidates. He directed all officers to strictly follow the SOPs and guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and ensure that all necessary facilities are put in place in a proper and systematic manner.

Dr. Bilal instructed the concerned departments to maintain close coordination for smooth, fair and successful conduct of the examination across the district. He also emphasized effective security, surveillance and other critical measures at the examination centres.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on key arrangements including establishing district control room, security deployment, transportation facilities, availability of electricity and drinking water at examination centres, traffic management, and dissemination of information.

The meeting also discussed deployment and role of magistrates, centre superintendents, and observers besides invigilating and support staff to ensure fair and transparent conduct of the examination. On the occasion, it was informed that a total of 9286 candidates are expected to appear in the examination, which will be held at 29 centres of the district.

Later, a comprehensive training session for superintendents and deputy superintendents, invilagating and other supervisory staff was organised at the same venue. Key aspects of the examination process were discussed in detail to ensure that the staff is well-versed with the necessary procedures.

Special emphasis was laid on proper checking of candidates at entry points before allowing them into the examination halls, while providing proper guidance for their ease and convenience. Further, strict instructions were issued to ensure that no candidate carries mobile phones or any other prohibited electronic gadgets inside the examination centres. The session emphasized the importance of professional approach, vigilance, transparency and fairness throughout the conduct of the examination.
