Shiromani Akali Dal leader and Kharar constituency incharge Ravinder Singh Khera held a meeting with the lawyers of Kharar Bar Association on Wednesday, during which the long pending issues related to Kharar Assembly constituency were discussed.
Raising the issue of problems faced by the common people, Khera launched a sharp attack on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government and said that the government has failed to release Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) to the pensioners from 2023 till now and is withholding many installments.
Khera also expressed concern over Punjab's increasing debt burden and alleged that more than ₹2,50,000 crore of new debt has been imposed on the state after the Aam Aadmi Party came to power. He said that despite taking such a huge loan, neither any new employment has been created for the youth nor any major infrastructure has been developed.
He asked, where is all this money going? The people of Punjab demand answers.Raising the issue of power crisis, Khera condemned the long and frequent power cuts in Kharar constituency and termed it as a failure of the promises of Aam Aadmi Party. He said that only a regional party, which is connected to the soil of Punjab, can understand and solve the daily problems of the people here.
He said, no national party is neither sensitive nor committed to solving the issues of Punjab. Only a regional force like Shiromani Akali Dal can bring real change at the ‘grassroots’ level.Regarding local issues, Khera strongly demanded upgrading of the infrastructure of Kharar Court Complex and raised questions on the 'indifference' of the Aam Aadmi Party government towards the legal community.
He said, "Lawyers are the backbone of our justice system. It is the duty of the government to provide them modern infrastructure and working facilities with dignity. We will continue our fight for a fully equipped court complex in Kharar."Kharar Bar Association announced its full support to Khera and assured to stand by him in his efforts to restore the basic facilities and infrastructure of the constituency.
A senior official of the association said, "We stand firmly with Ravinder Singh Khera and Shiromani Akali Dal. The legal fraternity of Kharar will provide all possible support and guidance."On this occasion, Deepak Sharma President, Rahul Rana Vice President, Kesav Aggarwal Secretary, Amarjeet Singh Rupal, Gurveer Singh Lali, Kuldeep Singh, Jai Raghu Nandt, Satinderpal Singh, Harpreet Singh Johar, Amit Kumar, Aks Chetan, Kharak Singh, Ravinder Singh Saini, Ranjit Singh Rai, Lavneet Singh, Iqbal Singh, Gurmail Singh, Harkrishan Singh were present.
