Nasha Mukht JK Abhiyan : Rajouri Admin organises interaction-cum-awareness camp with Mahila Nigrani Samiti

As part of the ongoing 100 Day Nasha Mukht Jammu & Kashmir Campaign, the District Administration Rajouri today organised an interaction-cum-awareness camp with the Mahila Nigrani Samiti here at Boys Higher Secondary School- Darhal.

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma graced the occasion and underscored the pivotal role of women, particularly Mahila Nigrani Samitis, in curbing the menace of drug abuse at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need for sustained awareness, community participation and proactive vigilance to make villages drug-free.

He further called for strengthening of such committees through regular engagement, capacity building and coordinated action with the administration. Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Sikarwar highlighted the role of law enforcement agencies in curbing drug trafficking and urged the public, especially women, to come forward with information and support the Police in identifying and eliminating drug networks.

He reiterated that strict action shall be taken against those involved in drug peddling and related offences. ACR   Mohammad Jahangir Khan, District Social Welfare Officer   Abdul Raheem, BDO Darhal Wajid Sheikh, Principal Host School Atiya Lone and prominent citizens from civil society also shared their views and stressed the importance of collective efforts in spreading awareness and ensuring a drug-free society.

After the interaction, a Padyatra was organised from the school   to the main market, witnessing enthusiastic participation of women, who raised slogans and spread awareness against drug abuse. Among others present on the occasion were CMO Dr Manohar Lal Rana, DIO Ashiq Rafiq Malik, SDPO Thanamandi Parupkar Singh, DySP Operations Sushant Singh, besides other district and sectoral officers.

The programme concluded with a strong resolve to intensify the campaign and ensure active involvement of all sections of society in making Rajouri a drug-free district.
