Punjab Government committed to procuring every grain of wheat at MSP: MLA Ramdas

MLA of Attari constituency, S. Jaswinder Singh Ramdas, today reviewed the ongoing wheat procurement at Dana Mandi Attari. During his visit, he interacted with farmers, commission agents, and laborers to gather firsthand information about the procurement process in the mandi. On this occasion, Chairperson of Market Committee Attari, Mrs. Seema Sodhi, along with Hardev Singh Lali Khalsa, Randeep Singh Kotli, Harmesh Singh, Kuldeep Singh Modhe, and officials of procurement agencies were also present.

While inspecting the procurement arrangements, MLA Ramdas stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to procuring every single grain of farmers’ produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), and no inconvenience will be allowed to farmers in the mandis.

He further said that all agencies and commission agents have been instructed to ensure adequate arrangements of tarpaulins and crates to protect the procured grain from adverse weather conditions. He directed the officials associated with procurement operations to ensure there is no laxity in the mandis and that no farmer or commission agent faces any difficulty. He added that payments for procured crops are being made within 24 hours.
