District Administration Amritsar Celebrates 135th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. BhimRao Ambedkar with Great Enthusiasm

Deputy Commissioner Urges Citizens to Follow the Path Shown by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Shri Dalwinderjeet Singh, the District Administration Amritsar today celebrated the 135th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, with great enthusiasm at the District Administrative Complex, Amritsar. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shri Dalwinderjeet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Shri Rohit Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Smt. Parmjeet Kaur, SDM-1 Smt. Alka Kalia, SDM-2 Gurminder Singh, SDM Lopoke Khushpreet Singh, District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer Shri Pallav Shreshtha, along with other district officials, paid floral tributes by offering flowers at the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner called upon the residents of the district to follow the ideology of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and contribute towards building an equal and progressive society. He said that walking on the path shown by Babasaheb is the most appropriate tribute to him.

Highlighting the contributions of Dr. Ambedkar as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, the Deputy Commissioner said that he dedicated his entire life to equality, fraternity, and humanity, and made significant efforts for the upliftment of the underprivileged sections of society. He further stated that Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of social and political equality remains as relevant today as it was in the past.

Describing Dr. Ambedkar as a global personality of great stature, the Deputy Commissioner urged citizens to draw inspiration from his life and work towards building an inclusive and just society. He added that the District Administration Amritsar will continue to make sincere efforts towards realizing the vision of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and ensuring the upliftment of the weaker sections of society.
