Ensuring Crop Procurement and Timely Payments is Government’s Priority: Ranbir Gangwa

Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said the new measures implemented by the state government in mandis for crop procurement are entirely in the interest of farmers. 

The objective of these measures is to ensure that the produce of local farmers is procured first and that they receive timely payments, thereby bringing transparency to the procurement process and safeguarding farmers’ interests.

The Cabinet Minister visited the grain market in Hisar on Saturday to inspect the ongoing procurement operations and arrangements. During the visit, he held a meeting with officials, farmers, commission agents, and traders, where he listened to their issues and suggestions. He also addressed and resolved several of their concerns.

He clarified that the government’s primary focus is to ensure that farmers do not face any difficulty in selling their produce. He stated that all arrangements in the mandis have been implemented smoothly and that officials have been directed to ensure that the procurement process is carried out in a transparent, fair, and time-bound manner.

Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa issued strict instructions to procurement agencies and mandi administration officials, stating that negligence or irregularities at any level will not be tolerated. He warned that strict action will be taken against any officer or employee found guilty of laxity.

He further informed that special arrangements have been made by the government for effective monitoring of the procurement process. Nodal officers have been appointed for each mandi by the district administration, along with government representatives and senior administrative officials, to closely monitor the entire process.
