Today, Aam Aadmi Party’s State Chief Spokesperson, MLA, and former Cabinet Minister of Punjab, S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, paid floral tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. He stated that under the leadership of AAP National Convener Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, and Punjab Affairs In-charge Shri Manish Sisodia, the Mann Government and AAP Punjab unit are committed to strengthening national unity and rebuilding a prosperous Punjab.
He added that previous governments of Congress, Akali Dal, and BJP allegedly adopted anti-people and exploitative policies, which led to the deterioration of Punjab—once known as the “Golden Sparrow.” Reviving Punjab and restoring its former glory is their main agenda. Dhaliwal was addressing a gathering as the chief guest at a martyrdom day event held at the party’s constituency-level office in Ajnala, organized under the leadership of City President and Chairman Amit Aul.
During the event, amidst slogans of revolution, Dhaliwal and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to the portrait of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He called upon the people of Punjab and the country to become true inheritors of the ideology of Bhagat Singh and countless other patriots.
He said that India, which was freed through the sacrifices of martyrs, is again facing attempts of economic, political, social, and cultural domination by imperialist forces, particularly the United States. He cited as an example the trade policies where the U.S. has imposed an 18% tariff on Indian goods, while India has allowed zero tariffs on agricultural and other goods from the U.S. under a bilateral trade agreement signed by the Modi government.
Dhaliwal further stated that the dreams of martyrs like Bhagat Singh—especially in the fields of education, healthcare, and employment—are being fulfilled by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Efforts are being made to improve the standard of living by bringing revolutionary changes in these sectors. He reiterated that a life-size statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh will soon be installed in Ajnala with the cooperation of Majha Virasat Trust and the Municipal Council Ajnala, and the process of selecting the location is currently underway.
On this occasion, among others present were Punjab State Women Commission Vice Chairperson Geeta Gill, City President Amit Aul, former Councillor Baljinder Singh Mahal, former Councillor Surinder Babbu Mahajan, Block President Davinder Singh Sonu, Councillor Avinash, Councillor Rajbir Kaur Chahal along with youth leader Shiv Chahal, Advocate Sandeep Kaushal Gattu, District Planning Board Member Harpreet Singh Sohal, Sukhdyal Singh Bhakha, former Director Dalbir Ghulli, Dilbagh Ghulli, and other leaders, who also paid floral tributes.
