Reiterating the commitment of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to create a trader-friendly and investor-friendly environment, MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa along with Vice Chairman Punjab State Traders’ Commission Anil Thakur held a comprehensive meeting with traders at Zirakpur today.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Randhawa stated that the Punjab State Traders’ Commission is actively working from the constituency level to the district and state levels to ensure that issues faced by traders are resolved efficiently, starting from the grassroots.
He emphasized that the government is fully committed to protecting the interests of traders and strengthening the business ecosystem across Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Anil Thakur assured the traders that the Commission will act as a strong bridge between the government and the trading community.
He emphasized that all grievances raised during the meeting have been duly noted and the concerned departments have been directed to resolve them within a stipulated period of two weeks. He further reiterated that continuous follow-up will be ensured to provide timely relief and improve ease of doing business for traders.
During the meeting, traders raised various concerns related to taxation, municipal services, policing, utilities, and regulatory compliances. Taking serious note of the issues, the concerned departments were directed to resolve the grievances within a period of two weeks.
Prominent among those present included Chairman, District Traders’ Commission Mohali, Ranjit Pal Singh; Constituency Traders’ Committee Chairman Ajay Kumar; SDM Derabassi Amit Gupta; Deputy Superintendent of Police, Derabassi and Zirakpur; Assistant Commissioner State Tax, SAS Nagar-3; Executive Officers of Municipal Councils Derabassi, Lalru and Zirakpur; Tehsildars/Naib Tehsildars of Zirakpur and Derabassi; SHOs of Police Stations Zirakpur, Derabassi and Lalru; Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Derabassi; Assistant Food Supply Officer, Derabassi; Labour Inspectors of Zirakpur and Derabassi; Sub-Divisional Officers of PSPCL, Water Supply & Sanitation, and Public Works Department; General Manager, District Industries Department, SAS Nagar; and Senior Medical Officers of Derabassi and Zirakpur.
The meeting concluded with an assurance that coordinated efforts among all departments will ensure prompt resolution of issues and boost confidence among the trading community.
