Sukhveer Singh visits villages of Dhuri constituency

To review the ongoing development works in the villages of the Dhuri Assembly constituency and to initiate new projects, OSD to the Chief Minister, Sukhveer Singh, visited the villages of Sherpur Sodhian, Dhadogal and Jainpur today. During the visit, he inaugurated development works worth approximately ₹1.57 crore.
On the occasion, he also listened to the grievances and issues raised by the villagers. Addressing the gathering, OSD Sukhveer Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is making concerted efforts to ensure holistic development of villages across the state.
He said the Chief Minister has issued clear directions that no effort should be spared in providing basic amenities to the people and that development projects must be implemented in every village in accordance with the needs and aspirations of residents. He informed that the Nabha–Dhuri–Malerkotla road via Laggarhia, Niamatpur, Jainpur, Banbhora and Mankmajra, measuring around 21.25 kilometres, will be widened to 18 feet at an estimated cost of ₹17 crore.
This project, he said, will significantly improve connectivity and facilitate smoother transportation for residents of the region. Providing details about village Sherpur Sodhian, he said development works worth about ₹1.7 crore have already been completed, while new works worth ₹77 lakh are being initiated.
He also inaugurated the construction of a memorial gate in honour of Shaheed Baljit Singh. In addition, the 2.47-kilometre road connecting Jakhal to Sherpur Sodhiaan is also being widened to 18 feet. In village Dhadogal, development works worth approximately ₹2.7 crore have already been carried out, while additional works worth about ₹48 lakh will commence shortly.
He informed that a modern sports stadium will be constructed in the village at a cost of ₹38 lakh, while a dedicated sitting space for senior citizens will be built at a cost of ₹5 lakh. Besides this, the Dhadogal–Jainpur road is being widened to 18 feet and the village circular road (phirni) is also being upgraded to the same width. He further stated that development works worth around ₹98 lakh have already been completed in village Jainpur, while additional projects worth ₹31 lakh have now been initiated.
Among those present on the occasion were Waqf Board Member Dr. Anwar Bhasaur, Zila Parishad Member Rachhpal Singh, Chairman Punjab Trade Commission Dhuri Pushpinder Sharma (Soma), Gagan Jawandha, BDPO Sukhwinder Singh, Pankaj, Ramandeep Singh, Narendra Kaur, Jagraj Singh, Jagnandan Singh, Labh Singh, Gurdhiyan Singh, Sarabjit Singh, Bisakha Singh, Parmjit Singh, Boota Singh, Sarwan Singh, Harkewal Singh, Bikkar Singh, Sukhveer Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Shaminder Singh, Amardeep Dhandra, Manpreet Singh, Satnam Singh, Manpreet Kaur, Bharpoor Singh Dhadogal, Davinder Singh Dhura, Rimpal Singh and a large number of villagers.
