Prabhjot Kaur inaugurates new kitchen and interlocking tiled flooring at Government High School, Saidpur

A newly constructed kitchen and interlocking tiled flooring inside the boundary wall at Government High School, Saidpur were inaugurated today by Er. Prabhjot Kaur, Chairperson, District Planning Committee, SAS Nagar. Prominent local residents, members of the School Management Committee, teaching staff and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

The project was completed with a grant of Rs 5 lakh released by the District Planning Committee, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. The funds were utilized for the construction of the kitchen and installation of interlocking tiles within the school premises, thereby strengthening the basic infrastructure of the institution.

Addressing the gathering, Er. Prabhjot Kaur said that providing improved facilities in government schools is a firm commitment of the Punjab Government. She stated that the newly constructed kitchen will ensure preparation of the Mid-Day Meal in a clean and hygienic environment, which will positively impact students’ health and academic performance.

She further added that the installation of interlocking tiled flooring within the school boundary has enhanced cleanliness and beautified the campus. It will also help prevent muddy conditions during the rainy season, ensuring convenience and safety for students and staff.

School Incharge Rajbans Kaur expressed gratitude to the District Planning Committee Chairperson Prabhjot Kaur, stating that the long-pending requirement of the school has now been fulfilled. She assured that government funds would continue to be utilized in a transparent and judicious manner.

Chairperson encouraged students to focus on their studies and bring pride to their parents and teachers. She reiterated that the District Planning Committee will continue to extend support for development works as per requirement in the future.
